I have some exciting news. Piggy Blankets UK will be making an appearance at the The Frost Fairs in Gravesend. I will also be holding a stall at a smaller Christmas Fair in a preschool in the village where I live. The Frost Fairs are held over four weekends. Each weekend has a different theme. We will be there on Sunday the 10th December during the Hot and Fiery Frost Fair. As well as the stalls there will be an ice rink, music, food, and a small funfair. Plenty of entertainment for all of the family. On Friday the 15th, Piggy Blankets UK will be attending another smaller Christmas Fair too as mentioned earlier.
Seeing as it is my first Christmas Fair as a seller and I have no idea what is expected of me. I did some reconnaissance at a Christmas Market held locally this weekend. I have to say having only been to Christmas Markets abroad, I was impressed at how festive and how big the turnout was. The stalls were varied and my fellow crafters had really outdone themselves. There was even a couple of crochet/knit stalls. I was pleased to see that my items were similar and also that nobody else had exactly the same products as me.
Now it is time to do a last push, seeing as I have three weeks to finish my orders and get all of my planned stock finished. Crafting aside I have had to make some time to get my own Christmas preparations going. I am very behind compared to other years. Normally by the end of October my chutneys are made and I’m beginning to think about getting my Christmas Cake in the oven. We did that task last night and the little pigs helped me to bake it before their bedtimes. They thoroughly enjoyed getting cake mixture everywhere. Although my eldest really struggled to understand that we were not going to be eating the cake anytime soon.
It’s now wrapped securely in it’s foil blanket waiting to be fed over the next couple of weeks.
It was such a lovely scent to go to bed with as I took it out at 10pm and by the time I went to bed at Midnight, the house still smelled of Christmas. It was a very soothing scent. In fact I think it might be the new lavender!
That’s it for now. Please make sure to pop in and say hello if you’re in the area on the 10th December.
Speak to you soon.
Wishing you well
